VOCEDplus help > Glossary of VET
The Glossary contains definitions for over 300 terms used in Australian vocational education and training (VET) literature and includes more than 400 acronyms and initialisms.
A variety of reputable sources are used for the definitions. Where a definition is wholly extracted from a single source, the source is provided within the entry. The downloadable versions of the glossary, found on the Glossary of VET page, include a bibliography of all sources used in compiling the glossary.
The scope of the glossary was reviewed in 2020 and since information about policy initiatives and programs, government departments, COAG Ministerial Councils and their committees and advisory bodies, and organisations and resources is now available in the VET Knowledge Bank, these entries have been removed from the glossary.
Acronyms and initialisms of organisations, including government departments and agencies, and programs and initiatives are still included in the glossary.
Italicised acronyms do not have their own standalone entries. Instead, you are provided with a SEE reference to the term that uses that acronym.
