National review of education for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people: a discussion paper

This discussion paper marks the end of the first stage of the review of education for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people announced by the Commonwealth in 1993. It sets out the statistical and other evidence on the current state of education for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, from preschool to university, as well as information on transition to the labour market. The paper also highlights some of the major issues to emerge from the review, and makes some suggestions to encourage debate on this issue. Submissions to the review are invited.
