The national report on Belgium presents a brief history of the education system in Belgium and a description of the reforms carried out and strategies adopted in order to improve parity of esteem between initial vocational education and academic/general education. This brief paper discusses vocational education in Belgium and the reform process with an increasing emphasis on forming a relationship between the business community and the education sector.
