The Victorian Chamber of Manufactures-Transition Education Advisory Committee (VCM-TEAC) project arose from increased VCM interest in education and a commitment to understanding, and creating a mechanism for, employer-school consultation and industry contribution to education, particularly at the secondary level. This project report examines the school to work transition experiecned by a group of young people employed in the manufacturing industry. It attempts to located 'friction points' in this process and to suggest future directions to overcome these.
