Macroeconomic impacts of an ageing population: a literature review

The economic impact of ageing has been well researched by academics around the world. This paper summarises some major findings based on several landmark theoretical models of economic growth and a number of large scale computer simulations performed by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) of the Japanese Cabinet Office and the Bank of England in recent years.
