The economic impact of ageing has been well researched by academics around the world. This paper summarises some major findings based on several landmark theoretical models of economic growth and a number of large scale computer simulations performed by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) of the Japanese Cabinet Office and the Bank of England in recent years.
