A new challenge for education: addressing the needs of lifelong learners

This article discusses the impact of the knowledge-based economy and how it compels everyone to become a lifelong learner. This means that the process of preparing for and exploring new careers is no longer solely the domain of those new to the work force, and educational institutions need to consider how they can broaden their focus in order to attract and support this new type of client. The article explains the concept of competency asset management (CAM) and demonstrates how education institutions can contribute to the overall process of competency asset management.
