Pacific 2010: Women and employment in Solomon Islands

The main objective of the Pacific 2010 project has been to draw to the attention of the leaders of Pacific nations a number of issues implicit in the growth of island populations by 2010. The focus has been on Melanesia and this publication examines the status of women in the Solomon Islands and outlines current measures addressing women's subordination. The chapters are: Policies for employing women; Women in business and government jobs; Women and subsistence agriculture; Women in informal business.
