This article reports on a study that examined teachers' perceptions of their working environment in the light of evidence suggesting that the size of an organisation may have an effect on these perceptions. The study assessed the predictive value by school size, of selected intrinsic and extrinsic work reward variables on vocational teachers' work satisfaction. 516 vocational teachers provided data for the study through mailed survey instruments. The findings indicated that regardless of the size of the school, teachers' intrinsic orientation towards their jobs was the strongest predictor of work satisfaction. Show less
