This case study evaluated the effectiveness of the competency-based teacher education model used by The Pennsylvania State University in preparing beginning vocational-industrial teachers. Data were taken from a census of 55 beginning teachers and 22 local resource people in the geographical region served by The Pennsylvania State University. Results clearly show this model is providing a solid foundation for the pedagogical development of beginning vocational-industrial teachers.
