The authors present the findings of a market research project to identify student preferences for flexible education relating to further and higher education. They examine both access to learning and choice within the courses to explore practical and logistical issues in the provision of non-traditional education. They describe the terms used, the methodology and approach and they present results that show which particular freedoms meet most needs and are most relevant.
