Abstract:

The Australian Industry Group's 2018 Workforce Development Needs Survey report has identified critical skill issues facing Australian businesses with 75 per cent of employers reporting skill shortages and 99 per cent are impacted by low levels of literacy and numeracy. Similar surveys have also been conducted in 2012, 2014 and 2016 enabling a time series comparison. The 2018 survey attracted responses from 298 companies employing a total of 111,209 employees.
