Abstract:

The purpose of this report is to outline what AEWs' views are on becoming teachers in Tasmania, and to recommend pathways to make teaching degrees accessible and achievable for AEWs and Aboriginal students in Tasmania. The aims of this research project were: (1) To identify what factors motivate, support and encourage AEWs in Tasmania to enrol in a teaching degree; (2) To identify what barriers prevent AEWs in Tasmania from enrolling in a teaching degree; (3) To identify the views of AEWs in Tasmania on what factors influence Aboriginal student engagement and success in Tasmania.
