Abstract:

The purpose of this Scan is to build a comprehensive picture of the landscape of Tasmania's primary industries sector, from the education sector to the paddock, including the challenges, opportunities and emerging issues that may impact on workforce development capacity and capability. Advances in technology and shifts in consumer expectations, combined with an aging workforce are just some of the factors that indicate to the primary industries sector, from the grass roots farmer to those shaping policy, the need to prioritise skills and workforce development.
